Gabriel Adrián Rabinovich, PhD. Senior Investigator of the National Council Research from Argentina and Full Professor of Immunology (Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, University of Buenos Aires). Head of the laboratory of Immunopathology at the Institute of Biology and Experimental Medicine. Member of the National Academy of Sciences (Argentina), Recently Elected Member of the USA National Academy of Sciences (NAS; 2016) and the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS; 2015 Italy).
Dr. Rabinovich is Deputy-director of the Institute of Biology and Experimental Medicine (IBYME) and Visiting Professor at several universities (Maryland; Paris; Harvard and Miami). His findings, reported in more than 230 publications, many of them in world-leading journals such as Cell, Nature Medicine, Nature Immunology, Immunity, Cancer Cell, PNAS, Journal of Experimental Medicine and Cancer Research and presented in 8 patents, allowed the identification of a novel paradigm based on galectin-glycan interactions in the control immunological and vascular programs and the design of novel therapeutic approaches in autoimmune diseases and cancer.
He delivered more than 250 international lectures, supervised several PhD students, post-doctoral fellows and associate investigators is Editor of 12 internationally-recognized scientific journals and his work has been cited by more than 15,000 articles.
